Master’s/Doctoral Programs in Mathematics

Department of Mathematics, Graduate School of Pure and Applied Sciences, is scheduled to be reorganized to
Master’s/Doctoral Program in Mathematics,
Degree Programs in Pure and Applied Sciences,
Graduate School of Science and Technology,
from April 2020, due to the organizational restructuring of graduate programs, University of Tsukuba.

From April 2020, the University of Tsukuba will reorganize all graduate school education into a degree program system.

This reform, which shifts all graduate schools to a system where we structure degree programs across traditional organizational boundaries, is the first of its kind in Japan.  We are developing highly diverse human resources who can respond to the complex needs of our rapidly changing modern society.

Professors who were previously in charge of only one major can now collaborate on other programs, and students can now conduct their research with a wider perspective.

The Graduate School of Pure and Applied Sciences will be reorganized into the Degree Programs in Pure and Applied Sciences with five master's and five doctoral degree programs:

  Master’s/Doctoral Programs in Mathematics
  Masters/Doctoral Programs in Physics
  Master's/Doctoral Programs in Chemistry
  Master's Program in Engineering Sciences
  - Subprogram in Applied Physics
  - Subprogram in Materials Science
  Doctoral Program in Engineering Sciences
  - Subprogram in Applied Physics
  - Subprogram in Materials Science
  - Subprogram in Materials Science and Engineering
