From Tokyo
There are two transportations between Tokyo and Tsukuba.
- Tsukuba Express (TX)
- Highway Bus
Tsukuba Express
[Akihabara station] -- Tsukuba Express -- [Tsukuba Station] -- walk -- [Tsukuba Center] -- Taxi -- [Our Institute]
Total time: about 1h00mins-1h30mins.
- Go to the Akihabara station for the Tsukuba Express (TX) (which is underground), and get on a train (of TX) bound for Tsukuba.
- Get off the train at Tsukuba station, the terminal.
- Come out on the ground from the "Exit A3". You can find taxies (and buses) on the right side of you.
- Take a taxi, and go to "Dai-ichi Area Mae" at 6K area on this map. Our institute (offices of faculty members, etc) is in "Building D" at 6K area, "Building B" at 6L area, and "Laboratory of Advaneced Research B" at 6J area.
Highway Bus
[JR Tokyo station] -- Highway Bus -- [Our Institute]
Total time: about 1h20mins. (But, in the case that the traffic jam occurs, it may take about 3 hours.)
- Get on a highway bus bound for Tsukuba Center at Yaesu southern exit Highway Bus Terminal at Tokyo station. You can buy your ticket at the vending machine of the terminal (find "JR Bus" on this map of the Toyko station), or in the highway bus (ask the bus driver).
- Get off the highway bus at "Daigaku Kaikan Mae", where is at 5M area on this map.
- Walk north (i.e., in the same direction with the bus') along the street. Then you soon come to the 6K area on this map. Our institute (offices of faculty members, etc) is in "Building D" at 6K area, "Building B" at 6L area, and "Laboratory of Advaneced Research B" at 6J area.
